February.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Discuss and explain the 4 types of bullying that are mentioned in the article (page 3). Think, Pair, Share: Ask the students what they think the impact of these 4 types of bullying are. Next, have them turn to their elbow partner and discuss their ideas for preventing these types of bullying. Now have them share their ideas. Discuss why cyberbullying, in particular, is hurtful and how a digital footprint cannot be erased. Show and discuss the following documents with the students: <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/sylsketch27\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Digital Tattoo<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sylviaduckworth.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sylvia Duckworth<\/a> and \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/drawings\/d\/1ocGzuRuWtlwCR9Q-FhoT3UCNp-5qJl0Sggb3wBNn4ss\/edit?usp=sharing\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notre trousse de citoyennet\u00e9 num\u00e9rique<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d, discuss in particular the toothpaste and permanent marker and how anything posted online cannot be erased or removed. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>Part 2:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">group work 15 minutes<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Divide the class into 3 groups, give each group one chart paper with a blank Venn diagram on it. Have each group use markers to fill in the Venn diagrams, they will be comparing each type of bullying to cyberbullying and putting commonalities in the middle. Let them know that next class period they will be sharing their Venn diagrams with the class. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>Part 3:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Designing Pink Day t-shirts with Google Drawings 20 minutes +<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Begin by showing examples of Pink Day t-shirts to the students on the digital projector. \u201cBe a buddy, not a bully\u201d \u201cKindness is one size fits all\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s not cool to be cruel\u201d, etc. A Google image search for \u201cPink Day t-shirt\u201d brings up lots of examples. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next, show the students the Pink t-shirt template on the projector screen. If your students are new to Google Drawings you will want to go through the basics and show how to insert images, text, shapes, word art, etc. \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They should then be given time to work on the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/drawings\/d\/15bwHMtePt_Y2VsZbiKqfnOqucRDsWbqcKSXkW1-Y1Nc\/copy\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">t-shirt design<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on their Chromebooks\/laptops. \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>T-Shirt design success criteria:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>\u2713I have included at least one image.<br \/>\n\u2713I have included a slogan that promotes anti-bullying.<br \/>\n\u2713I designed both sides of my t-shirt.<br \/>\n\u2713I checked my spelling, grammar, and punctuation.<br \/>\n\u2713I shared my design with a classmate and was given feedback.<br \/>\n\u2713I gave at least one classmate feedback on his\/her design.<\/p>\n<p>Happy <a href=\"https:\/\/dayofpink.org\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Day of Pink<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>Want more free FSL resources?
